Xiangqi

Chinese Chess board game against a computer opponent. To win you need to capture the general of your opponent.

Shift your pieces according to their unique movement rules. The King can only travel one square at a time within the fortress. Advisors can only move diagonal moves within the palace. Bishops move exactly two squares diagonally and cannot cross the river. Horses move one square straight and then one square diagonally, if not impeded by adjacent pieces. Chariots move any number of squares straight, acting as powerful attackers. Catapults move like chariots but must capture by hopping over exactly one piece. Pawns move forward one square and attack sideways after crossing the river. Take the opponent's general to win the game. Think ahead your moves carefully to defeat the computer opponent.
